Molly Reimer-Instructor/Choreographer

 

Born and raised in the Midwest, Molly Reimer began dancing at the tender age of seven. She trained for over ten years in classical ballet, pointe, tap and jazz under the direction of the late Anne Petersen. 

During her high school years, Molly also attended various workshops with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, IL and The Cecchetti Council of America in Holland, MI

where she trained with the incredible Viktor Yeliohim. After graduating, she opened The First Position 

School of Dance in Clinton, IA. In 1998, Molly made the move to Chicago where she continued her 

training with Bea Rashid and Dance Center Evanston. Since moving to the Chicago area fifteen years 

ago, Molly has choreographed several competition and performance pieces for local dance teams. She

has also attended various conventions and worked with renowned choreographers like Paula Morgan, 

Alison Holker, Nick Zborowski, Nick Bass, Chris Jacobsen, Stacey Tookey, Ray Leeper, Travis Wall, 

Denise Wall, Anthony Morigerato, Melissa Sandvig, Ade Obayomi, Sonya Tayeh and many others. 

Molly has nearly twenty years of teaching experience and has been with our studio for almost 10 years. 

She instructs multiple beginner and intermediate ballet, tap, and jazz classes weekly and also 

choreographs for our award winning competition team. Molly is the lead director for our Performance Team at Dance Dynamics. Over the past several years Molly's routines have placed in the top 10 overall, including a 1st overall many times, Highest tap score of the weekend, "Most Entertaining" award and much more! 

We are so proud and honored to have Molly still with us at Dance Dynamics!!

Denise Quinn-Instructor/Dynamic Dancers Director

 

Denise has been in the dance business for over 40 years.  She has been dancing and teaching since she was a young girl.  In 1980, after many years of experience in teaching at different studios and park districts, Denise opened her own dance and gymnastics studio that ran successfully for 20 years.  There she taught all ages and levels both gymnastics and dance.  Denise raised two daughters with the same love and passion for dance that she had, and her youngest, Brittnie, has followed in her footsteps by opening Dance Dynamics in 2008.  Denise now works with children of all ages in dance and in special education in preparation for the Special Olympics.

Denise runs the "Dynamics Dancers" program-a program dedicated to special needs Children of all ages and skill level.  Denise also teaches some of our tot classes throughout the week.

Summer of 2015 one of Denise's long time students attended the Special Olympic World Games in LA and won the GOLD MEDAL!!!! Denise has many, many years of experience and now has a gold medal winner under her belt!! We are so lucky to have her working with our dancers at Dance Dynamics.

Denise is also in charge of ordering dancewear and shoes for the studio and helps out in stage management for the Dance Dynamic's annual recitals.  She also makes costumes for our competition and recreational programs.

Amelia Hendryx-Instructor/Choreographer



Amelia started her dance career in Indiana and while in high school performed for such artists as Anne Murray and for the University of Notre Dame as a dancer and cheerleader. She received a Bachelor of Science in Dance Performance and Minor in Dance Education at Ball State University. During her time there, Amelia was voted “Most Notable Dancer in an Ensemble” by both her facility and peers. She also took choreography and technique classes with such companies as: Kirov Ballet, Boshoi Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Lula Washington and Hubbard Street. Amelia has been taught by Lou Ann Young, Michael Worcel, Sarah Mangelsdorff, Katie Techtler, Debbie Werbrouck and recently worked with Brian Friedman, Wade Robson, Chris Judd, Dave Scott, Mia Michaels, Sonja Tayeh, Nick Zbrowoski and Nick DiNickdeangelo. She is trained in ballet, jazz, pointe, modern/contemporary, ethnic/folk, lyrical, tap, and hip hop.  Upon graduation Amelia started teaching and performing with local dance studios and companies in Northern Indiana. After moving to Chicago, Amelia taught at various studios and park districts as well as doing choreography for local high school dance team competitions and performance companies.

​In 2007 Amelia joined Dance Dynamics Dance Company as the secondary choreographer and has been one of the lead choreographers and directors since the 2008 season.  Since it's conception with Dance Dynamics, DDDC has produced a number of high scoring pieces in all styles and age ranges.  Many of Amelia's pieces have placed in the top 10 overall, including several 1st overall "most entertaining", and "best choreography" awards.

 

Amelia runs our Advanced Ballet, Pointe, & Musical Theater program for both recreational and competitive

dancers and she continues to bring her amazing choreography to our award winning dance company.

Alyssa Calvano-Instructor/Choreographer

 

Alyssa started dancing at the age of 3 but did not become serious about it until the age of 12. Though her specialties are Contemporary/Modern, Lyrical, and Jazz dance, Over the years Alyssa has emerged herself in various styles including Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, and Ballet- including minor Pointe work. Alyssa danced under Brittnie Quinn in 2006 until her senior year in 2013 and was a part of the Dance Dynamics Dance Company for 5 years. While on company she had the chance to take classes from artists such as Stacey Tookey, Sonya Tayeh, Mark Meismer, and Paula Morgan. Jumping to more recent years, Alyssa graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelors of Arts in Dance and Choreography. During her years at Columbia College, she has performed on stages including, The Dance Center of Columbia College’s main stage, Stage 773, and more recently the Auditorium Theater. Alyssa also performs  Alluvion Dance Chicago. This will be Alyssa’s 5th year as an instructor & choreographer at Dance Dynamics. recently Alyssa's choreography has won multiple overall placement and highest score in an age division and 1st overall! She has also won "Best Choreography"

We are so excited to have Alyssa with us again both as a teacher & an incredible choreographer!

Samantha Newman- Instructor

 

Samantha has a bachelors degree in Theatre Arts Studies from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Her 

emphasis was on playwriting and costume and makeup design and she studied dance actively throughout her 

education.

Samantha grew up in the Chicagoland area and began dance training at age 3. She quickly began to focus on tap. At BYU, in addition to taking numerous dance courses, Samantha was on the folk dance team, was tap club 

president, and participated in BYU sponsored tap performances throughout Utah. She started as teacher's 

assistant for beginning through advanced tap classes at BYU and eventually taught the courses herself.

 Samantha has taught tap, jazz, creative dance, and ballet basics to children and adults in studios in Utah and Illinois since 2005Teaching tap is her specialty and primary focus. She continues her tap education through 

workshops at the Chicago Human Rhythm Project. 

Samantha enjoys yoga, pilates and running. She lives in St. Charles with her husband and their two children.

We are so happy to have Samantha continuing to educate our dancers with her excellent tapping skills!

 

 

 

  Susan Altman-Instructor/Adult Ballet & Baton Director

 

Susan Altman is an accomplished ballerina with an extensive history of performing and teaching for over 30 years.  She teaches Ballet I/II and is also our director for our Adult Ballet program.

In 2016, Susan earned the honor of becoming a certified teacher for American Ballet Theatre in New York, NY.  To become an ABT Certified Teacher, candidates must complete intensive training in the ABT National Training Curriculum and successfully pass comprehensive examinations.  As an ABT Certified teacher, Susan is permitted to teach the ABT National Training Curriculum, levels pre-primary through Level 3.  We are one of the few studios in the Midwest to have an ABT certified teacher on our staff!

Susan performed with the Pointe Park Ballet of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and the Detroit Civic Ballet in Royal Oak, MI.  She has completed ballet mastery and choreography courses in recent years with the California Ballet, and the Del Mar Ballet in California.

Susan runs our adult ballet program as well as our baton program director.  She teaches group lessons as well as runs a competitive baton program at Dance Dynamics.  Her students have competed at many local, regional and national baton twirling competitions, and have won divisional titles, such as AAU Midwest Regional Champion, and USTA State Champion.  One of her students was crowned with the most prestigious title for the NBTA division in our state, Miss Majorette of Illinois 2016.  Her coaching experience includes twirling, X strut, poms, dance team, and pageant modeling.

 

 

Michelle Balsamo-Instructor/Choreographer

 

Michelle Balsamo began dancing at three years old. She danced competitively until the age of eighteen and studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip-hop and contemporary. From the age of eighteen and on she has been teaching and choreographing pieces for competitive dancers. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2017 with a BA in dance. She studied modern techniques, ballet, west African, jazz, hip-hop and improvisation under the Columbia faculty. Through Columbia’s Repertoire Performance Workshop Michelle had the opportunity to work with and perform the choreography of Carrie Hanson, Thomas DeFrantz, and Vershawn Ward. She has also performed the works of Gil Mata, Cameron Mathe, Alvin Ramirez, Matt Pilalis, Julian Carmolinga, and Dionna Pridgeon at the Carnival Choreographer’s Ball in Chicago. She hopes to continue training, teaching, and performing in all different styles and work with new artists and students in the future.

Michelle teaches lyrical, hip hop, turns & leaps and jazz as well as choreographs for our hip hop company! We are so excited to have  Michelle at Dance Dynamics!

Nickie Del Rae Masino- Instructor

With her love of performing and explosive style, Chicago native Nickie Del Re-Masinoʼs vast experience includes touring the country as a world renowned Radio City Rockette in the annual production “Radio City Rockette Christmas Spectacular,” “The Masquerade Village Show in the Sky” at the Rio Suites Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, the World Cup opening ceremonies, and featured roll in “Dance Chicago”, “Jazz Hot”, and Lisa Boehmʼs annual production of the “Nutcracker Suite Ballet.” Nickie has performed with recording artists such as Tony Bennett, Richard Marx, Kristine W., and Jon Secada.
She has choreographed and performed in numerous industrials across the United States and has appeared in commercials for Reebok, Rio Suites Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and the Broadway musical “The Producers.” You may have also seen here 'eye highʼ kicks as a Radio City Rockette on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and her choreography was spotlighted on NBCʼs Americas Got Talent in 2014. Nickie has been teaching for more than 25 years and receives high praise for teaching award winning choreography, exceptional technique, and a strong work ethic, which has advanced many of her students to the professional level.
We are so excited to welcome Nickie into our Dance Dynamics home this fall! She will be teaching advanced jazz, lyrical, and floor barre! We are so lucky to have her!

Daniel Aguirre- Instructor

Daniel Aguirre has been dancing for twenty years and has has 10 years of teaching experience. Daniel has trained in five different styles of hip hop but, his main and favorite style is animation popping. Daniel is from Chicago but teaches all over, including the northwest suburbs of Illinois and Indiana.

Daniel has been a back up dancer for Drew Sidora, and he has been an integral part of two hip hop companies in the Chicago land area. Daniel also has donated his time to teach under privileged children, and has worked with children with special needs. For Daniel dance is not a hobby but simply a part of life. Daniel will be teaching 2 levels of boys hip hop, teen hip hop, & break dancing at Dance Dynamics starting in the fall of 2019! We are so excited to have him working with our dancers!

Nikki Perley-Office Manager & Instructor

 

Nikki has been our wonderful office Manager at Dance Dynamics for the last 9 years and now in 2019 runs our amazing Yoga Program! Nikki got her Certification in Yoga & Yoga Sculpt in May of 2019 and teaches 12-15 classes a week! We are so excited to offer Yoga sculpt at the studio several times a week with Nikki, this class is for anyone ages 18+ looking for a GREAT work out!
